Well ladies and gentlemen, I am so happy to be back home. Yes I have lots of love for my new library brothers and sisters, but it really feels good to be back to civilization. I have already started to apply some of our awesome learnin' to my work day today. My customers have told me all day how much they missed me. How sweet is that? I hope that all of you had an amazing experience as well-being there and coming home. I hope to hear from you all very soon.

I have been touched by 3 Questions
1. What surprised me about this experience?
My lists were so very different. I have to say that I really started to over think things. I couldn't focus on the question because I was trying to process and decide what would be the "best" answers. I found out ...SURPRISE! I don't always have to do that. That is not always necessary. My second list was so much more easy to write. I even put one answer down twice, now I know, it's OK.
2. What touched me about this experience?
I have always been a servant. I know this and I always have. What touched me is that I can also be a leader. There is a balance between the two, I just need to find it. I am being given all of the tools to learn to do this. And I am so excited that I am now on that path.
3. What inspired me about this experience?
Dr. Self. She is amazing. She oozed self confidence, leadership, and being a servant. She literally didn't have to open her mouth and I just knew that she was someone that I wanted to hear speak. She seems very wise yet very humble. I would really love to hear her again.

Rock-N-Roll Library Lady
I had the wonderful experience interviewing Glenda. She is a Rock-N-Roll loving, biker momma of 4 who hates to eat pizza, gravy and anything green. She seems fun loving and has 2 dogs, a bunny, a hamster, a fish, and so many cats she can't count them.
The only bumper sticker she has ever owned is one that said "See Me About Girl Scout Cookies!" However you may want to approach her with caution, because she is currently taking Tai Kwon Do. (How bad do you really want those Thin Mints?)
She told me that she is a dare devil and would definitely bungee jump if given the chance. She says she doesn't like Steven King or Nicholas Sparks. One made her cry and one is too scary .(i can't remember which is which)
Her favorite person in history is Benjamin Franklin. She told me a sweet story about her uncle buying her a book about him when she was a little girl. She said she wanted to go to the library but her uncle didn't think it was safe enough for her to walk there because there was a lot of traffic.

Day 2 at PLMI
The changes that I am going to make to better myself and my
library:
My library and I need a professional brand. We need to be
known in our community as not only a safe and fun place to come, but also a
place of knowledge and standards. I have found out today that the things that
we do are not easily forgotten now that we are known as librarians. That we not
only represent ourselves and our families but we now represent the library and
our community.
I am going to “write my own story”. I will gladly write it
for me and my library. I know now that taking the role that I have as the
library director, I have also become the face of the library. When people think
of the library, I will be one of the first things that enter their minds. That
anything they see me do, no matter where I am will forever reflect on the
library. I will always want this to be positive.
I have learned that I need to toot my own horn. That one is
going to be a hard one for me. It is going to take some practice, however I am
willing to try.

My first day at PLMI
This was the first time that I have got to here Don teach. I learned so much from him and I really enjoyed his style of teaching. He seemed very friendly and very passionate about his work. I also enjoyed his since of humor. I thought it was very sweet that he gave us Hugs and Kisses at the end of the day.
